Putting off the old you

Today’s reflection:
Ephesians 4:22-24 says “You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness” and, Lamentations 3:22-24 “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fails. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, ‘“The Lord is my portion; therefore, I will wait for him”.
God’s word teaches us to put off the former you, your old self which is corrupt by ungodly deceitful ways and to be made new in our minds and to be like him righteous and holy. How do we become new in our minds? It’s easy by picking up his word and meditating on it day and night, you become righteous and holy, by renewing your mind and to know God’s ways, to know how to live daily. So, we may know God’s will for our lives. It says his compassion is new every morning! Hallelujah! You get to start new every morning, it’s like a new beginning.
Wow! His compassion never fails because of his great love for us! He is your portion! Powerful! That’s awesome news and exciting! This is not an easy one for many, he is my portion and I wait on him. A lot of times we struggle to wait on him, then we end up in messes we created but then blame God for it. Guilty! So, it’s important that we practice patience and wait to hear from the Lord. We should seek him in everything we do. It’s vital to walk with him.

Todays prayer:                                                               Thank you Lord for helping me put off my old self every morning and giving me a fresh new start with you for my life and helping me walk in your righteousness and holiness. For your grace, mercy, forgiveness and most of all your salvation. Help me never be consumed because your love never fails. I praise you Lord for your faithfulness and my portion. Lord help me to learn to wait on you.
Your compassion never fails me. Lord you are my portion and I will wait on you. Thank you Lord for renewing my mind with your word daily, for giving me such a hunger and desire to know you more and more. In Jesus precious name Amen ?
